Written explanation sought in 48 hours

BNP has issued a show-cause notice to Ashraful Islam, president of the Ramna thana unit of the party’s Dhaka South city chapter, for filing a case against National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary.

The notice was issued tonight through a letter signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and the prime minister’s adviser, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The letter stated that Ashraful violated organisational discipline by filing the case without permission from the party.

He has been asked to submit a written explanation within the next 48 hours to BNP’s Nayapaltan central office as to why organisational action should not be taken against him.

Earlier in the morning, Ashraful filed the case against Nasiruddin Patwary in court.
