Finally, the highly corrupt and controversial Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDE) of Roads and Highways Department (RHD) in Sirajganj (sub division-2)-Jahidur Rahman Milu has been transferred to Sherpur  sub-division in Roads and Highways Department (RHD) of Bogura.

This information was confirmed through the notification of Roads and Highways Department’s headquarters.

Earlier on March-29 and 30 The Daily Bangladesh News and The Daily Sky published report with the title “RHD: How much honey at Sirajganj office, SDE Milu serving at same station for 6 yrs” revealing his various misdeeds.

Taking the reports in recognition, the higher authorities of the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) took the action and issued the notification on April 6, reliable sources claimed.

After hearing the news of Milu’s transfer, staffs and employees of the Sirajganj office as well as relevant contactors took the breath of relief, insiders said.

It is to be mentioned that, Milu turned the Roads and Highways Department’s Sirajganj office into a den of corruption and anomalies due to staying there for long time. He has amassed crores of taka through bribery and commission trade establishing dominance at the office and developing relationship with some unscrupulous contractors. He has already siphoned most of the money earned in illegal means to abroad, it is alleged.

Seeking anonymity, a senior official of the Roads and Highways Department’s headquarter said that, transfer is not a good solution for corrupt officers. Such transfer is just an eyewash.

On the other hand, anger has been created among the staffs and employees of Roads and Highways Department’s Bogura office centering the transfer of that corrupt officer to there. They demanded rapid removal of the newly appointed corrupt officer Milu from Bogura office to keep the office’s image bright.
