A court in Sirajganj on Tuesday sentenced a father and his son in separate jail terms in a murder case.

The court sentenced a man to life term and fined Tk 20,000, in default, he will have to suffer three more months in Jail.

The convict is Lal Chand Mian, son of Afaz Uddin of Chandanganti Dakhsmin Para village in Belkuchi upazila.

The court also sentenced his son Hamidul Islam Sagor to two years imprisonment in the same case. He has also been fined at Tk 5,000, in default, he will have to suffer three more months in Jail.

Md. Ikbal Hossain, Justice of the District and Sessions Judge Court in Sirajganj hanged down the verdict at noon.

According to the prosecution brief, Abdur Razzaque of the same village was killed in an attack on March 26, 2018 centering a long standing dispute. A case was lodged with Belkuchi police station in this connection. Police submitted a charge sheet to the court against the duo.
