Shakib Al Hasan has become just the fifth bowler in history to take 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Playing for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in CPL 2025, he dismissed Mohammad Rizwan to reach the milestone before finishing with three wickets in the match, taking his tally to 502.

He joins Rashid Khan (660), Dwayne Bravo (631), Sunil Narine (590) and Imran Tahir (554) in the 500 club. But Shakib stands apart as the only cricketer to combine 7,000+ runs with 500 wickets in T20s. Bravo came closest with 6,970 runs and 631 wickets, while Andre Russell (9,361 runs, 487 wickets) is closing in.

Shakib also holds nine Player of the Series awards — more than Virat Kohli (8) and Wanindu Hasaranga (7). Among spinners, he leads with five five-wicket hauls, joint-second overall behind David Wiese (7). His iconic 6 for 6 in CPL 2013 remains one of the format’s greatest spells.

Beyond wickets, his economy makes him elite: in 434 T20 innings, he’s gone run-a-ball or less 181 times (41.5%) — bettered only by Narine, Rashid, and Imad Wasim.
