Since 15 March, a total of 648 deaths linked to measles and its symptoms have been reported nationwide

Five more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 796 new cases of measles and suspected measles infections have been reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in the DGHS’s regular measles situation report released on Saturday.
According to the report, three of the latest deaths occurred in the Dhaka Division, while one death each was recorded in the Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions.
Since 15 March, a total of 648 deaths linked to measles and its symptoms have been reported nationwide.
The health authority also reported that 63 new measles infections were laboratory-confirmed during the last 24 hours. In addition, 733 people developed symptoms associated with the disease during the same period.
Since 15 March, the total number of people showing measles-related symptoms has reached 84,899, while 10,248 confirmed cases have been recorded across the country.
The DGHS report further stated that 69,606 patients suffering from measles or related symptoms have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since mid-March.
Of them, 65,852 patients have recovered and been discharged from healthcare facilities.
