Is it Deputy Commissioner (DC) office or bike parking lot, such as question has raised among the netizen as well as civil society members after few photos and video went viral on social media.

The incident has also caused of criticism due to lax-vigilance of the authorities concerned over the bike parking at here and there of the DC office premises.

According to the pictures and videos, it can be seen that a bike was parked in the office room known as the e-service center on the ground floor of the DC office. As a result, the seating and movement of service recipients was obstructed.

There is a complained that, a section of officials and visitors including influential political leaders parks their bikes here and there of the verandas of DC office blocking the path of service seekers’ movement.

Seeking anonymity, an official said, due to lack of designated parking lot, officers, employees and staffs of the DC office keep their bikes at the verandas and even besides of different desks in the rooms obstructing ways of service seekers and other officials.

Showing the excuse of thieves’ nuisance, owners of the bikers do this regularly. Besides, lax-vigilance of the higher authorities has opened such door of bikers’ privileges, he opined.

Service seekers including many officers drew the attention of Deputy Commissioner (DC) to take necessary steps to stop parking bikes on office rooms and verandas of the DC office to maintain official environment.
