Md. Faruk Hossain, Superintendent of Police in Sirajganj said, “Police are ready to ensure highest security during celebration of Durga Puja, also one of the largest festivals of the Hindu community. If any unpleasant situation creates, it will be dealt with strictly.
He came up with the remarks, while addressing a view exchange meeting at the conference room of Police Super office in Sirajganj town on Monday noon.
He further said, “Durga Puja is not just a festival of the Hindu community, it is a national festival. People of all religions and castes participate here. Therefore, the district police are always ready to ensure maximum security at the Puja Mandaps. Therefore, maximum vigilance including setting up security posts, rising of patroling and use of CCTV cameras at the entrance and exit points of the mandaps will be maintained. In addition, the festival will be completed peacefully through regular communication and coordination with the leaders of the Puja Celebration Parishad.”
The meeting was moderated by Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md. Ziaur Rahman.
Senior officers of the district and thana level police, presidents and general secretaries of the Puja Udjapan Parishad and other concerned persons were also present in the meeting.
A presentation was made at the meeting on the dos and don’ts given by the ministry and police headquarters. During the programme, the leaders of the Puja Udjapan Parishad expressed their views on maintaining law and order, security and overall cooperation.
