Barguna Correspondent:
A case has been filed against Barguna Sadar Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shaon Majumder Suman for allegedly forging the official letterhead and signature of Deputy Speaker of the national Parliament, Barrister Kaiser Kamal to block his transfer and secure a desirable posting in Dhaka.
Md. Monir Hossain, Director of Public Relations Sub-Division-1 of the Parliament Secretariat, filed the case at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in Dhaka.
Shaon Majumder has been named as the prime accused in the case alongside several unidentified individuals.
According to the Statement of Order (Ejahar), Shaon Majumder fabricated a fake Semi-Official (DO) letter using forged official letterhead and the signature of the Deputy Speaker. He allegedly used the fraudulent document to lobby for a preferred posting.
Records show that Shaon Majumder was initially transferred from Barguna Sadar to Rangabali upazila in Patuakhali.
The forged DO letter requested the cancellation of that transfer order and recommended his posting as the AC (Land) of Keraniganj upazila in Dhaka.
The forgery came to light after the Parliament Secretariat examined the document and confirmed that no such letter had ever been issued from the secretariat.
The complaint noted that the Deputy Speaker’s signature, language, layout, and security features on the fake letter did not match the official records of the Parliament Secretariat. The lawsuit states the forgery was committed deceptively to influence government posting procedures.
The plaintiff expressed concern in the complaint that an organized forgery syndicate might be involved behind the incident. He demanded a comprehensive investigation to uncover the root of the fraudulent scheme.
To ensure a fair investigation, the complaint requested digital forensic examinations of the accused’s mobile phone, computer, and email records, identification of the printing source of the document, and scrutiny of communication and financial transaction records of the suspects.
The case was registered under relevant sections of the Penal Code covering forgery, using forged documents as genuine, fraud, and criminal conspiracy. Copies of the fake letter, official letterhead samples, and other necessary documents were submitted with the case statement.
