Heads of the three Armed Forces pay courtesy call on president

The chiefs of staff of the Army, Navy and Air Force have paid courtesy calls on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Army chief General Waker Uz Zaman, Navy chief Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim and Air Force chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan called on the president at the Bangabhaban, on Tuesday afternoon, according to a press release from his official residence.

During the meeting, the three service chiefs extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the president on assuming the office. They informed the president about the various activities of their respective forces.

They also sought the president’s guidance and cooperation in discharging his duties as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.

President Fakhrul expressed satisfaction with the various activities of the Armed Forces. He said the current government is working to develop the armed forces as a modern, four-dimensional force.

The president assured the chiefs of the three services that he would continue to provide maximum cooperation for the overall development of the forces, along with enhancing the professional skills of their personnel during their tenure.
