A Dhaka court yesterday granted a three-day remand to Milton Samadder, the founder of Child and Old Age Care, over various charges, including fraudulence.

On Thursday, the investigating officer of DB Police, SI Kamal Hossain, presented the accused in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain and requested to take him on a seven-day remand.

On the other hand, his lawyers applied seeking cancellation of remand and bail of the accused. After the hearing of both parties, the court denied bail and ordered the accused to be remanded for three days.

Detectives detained Milton from the capital’s Mirpur yesterday following media reports on his alleged irregularities and crimes centering on the care home.
