Mirza Mostofa Zaman, one of the BNP nomination aspirants for Sirajganj-2 (Sadar and Kamarkhand) constituency and also the organizing secretary of Sirajganj district BNP, has expressed fears of a conspiracy surrounding the upcoming national election.
He said, I smell a conspiracy over the next national polls. BNP is losing the confidence day by day that was on the current government.
He made these comments in response to a question from journalists during the distribution of leaflets containing BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point demands and a mass rally in favor of paddy sheaf at the Central Municipal Bus Terminal, New Market and Baza’ar Station of Sirajganj town on Saturday (October 11) afternoon.
Mirza Mostofa Zaman strongly criticized the slow pace of the current government’s reform activities.
He said, “After the student-public movement on August 5, the government formed under the leadership of Dr. Yunus is delaying elections on the excuse of reform activities. But unfortunately, the reforms that were promised have not been implemented yet. Meanwhile, we are getting smell of foreign interference in the next elections.”
Expressing anger over the role of the administration, this BNP leader said, “The accused in several cases are roaming here and there openly in and out of Sirajganj. Despite repeatedly informing the police administration, no action is being taken against them. Due to unknown reason, police avoid their arrest. This proves that there is bias in the implementation of the law at the field level.”
He alleged that, such a situation is a major obstacle in the way of creating a free, fair and impartial environment for the upcoming elections.
This program was held as part of the BNP’s organizational preparation and mass communication ahead of the elections.
At that time, Mirza Mostofa Zaman moved door to door of the common people and sought votes in favour of paddy sheaf and distributed leaflets highlighting the current situation in the country.

During the mass communication, he was accompanied by Sirajganj District BNP Vice President and District DAB President Dr. MA Latif, District BNP Joint General Secretary Milon Islam Khan, Executive Member Md. Aslam Uddin, Student Affairs Secretary Khorshed Alam Mintu, Co-Publicity Secretary Jinnah Sardar, Sadar Upazila BNP Leader Abu Kayes Bhuiyan Colonel, Farhad Hossain, Municipal BNP Leader Zakir Hossain, District Chhatra Dal Organizing Secretary Rifat Hasan Sumon, District DAB Member and Managing Director of Sirajganj Community Hospital Dr. Abdul Aziz, District Sechcha Sebok Dal Joint Convener Akash Khandaker, District Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Md.
