Dengue: 4 deaths reported in 24 hours

Bangladesh recorded 814 new hospitalizations from dengue in the past 24 hours, along with four additional deaths, bringing the total death toll this year to 253, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS’s Health Emergency Operation Center & Control Room said in a statement on Tuesday (October 21) that the latest cases were reported across all divisions, with the highest numbers in Dhaka and Barisal. Among the newly admitted patients in the last 24 hours, 170 were from Dhaka North City, 107 from Dhaka South City, and 124 from Dhaka (areas outside the city corporations). Barisal reported 126 new cases, Chattogram 112, Mymensingh 46, Khulna 41, Rangpur 41, Rajshahi 40, and Sylhet five.

During the same period, 819 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. Since January, a total of 61,605 people have been hospitalized with dengue, and 58,521 have recovered.
