The District Primary Education Office has filed a departmental case against the headmaster of a government primary school in Shyamnagar of Satkhira on charges of molesting a student.

According to the complaint, Md. Israfil Hossain, Acting Headmaster of Dumuria Government Primary School No. 52 in the upazila, recently tried to molest a girl student of his school. In this incident, the girl’s guardian filed a written complaint with the Shyamnagar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Shyamnagar Police Station on October 15.

A hearing was held at the UNO office a day after filing the complaint. The UNO, OC of the police station, the Upazila Primary Education Officer and the Assistant Primary Education Officer were also present at there. After hearing the statements of both parties, the UNO ordered the accused teacher to be transferred elsewhere and to sent a report to the higher authorities for departmental action.

However, the accused teacher left the school before the transfer order took effect, said Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Humayun Kabir.

During an investigation, the truth of the complaint was found.

Based on this, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Enamul Haque recommended to take departmental action against the accused teacher and sent the report to the District Primary Education Office. Then on October 19, the District Primary Education Office filed a departmental case against Md. Israfil Hossain.

District Primary Education Officer Md. Ruhul Amin said that, the incident is very serious. After the investigation found the truth of the complaint, a departmental case has been filed. Further action will be taken as per the rules.
