An Awami League leader named Ahmed Mustafa Khan Bachchu, 70, has died in Sirajganj district jail.

He died at the 250-bed General Hospital in Sirajganj at around 10:00 am on Tuesday (October 28).

Ahmed Mustafa Khan Bachchu was the president of Enayetpur Thana Awami League in the district. He had been suffering from heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure for a long time.

Sirajganj Jail Super ASM Kamrul Huda confirmed this information to media.

He said that, he was rushed to Sirajganj General Hospital after he suddenly fell into sick at around 9:30 am. Later, the on duty doctors declared him dead. The body will be handed over to the deceased’s family after the post-mortem report and autopsy as per the rules.

Earlier, on April 24, he was landed in jail on the orders of the court in four cases including police murder at Enayetpur police station.
