Former Bangladesh cricket captain Mahmudullah Riyad has been admitted to hospital after falling ill.
His wife, Jannatul Kausar Misti, shared the news on social media on Thursday morning, requesting prayers for his quick recovery.
Mahmudullah, who retired from international cricket but continues to play in domestic leagues, had been sidelined in recent weeks due to injury.
According to family sources, he had been unwell for the past four days, initially suffering from a fever. Medical tests later confirmed he had contracted dengue, prompting his hospitalisation.
Hospital sources said Mahmudullah’s condition has since improved, and he is expected to return home within the next couple of days if his recovery continues.
