Indian Bengali actress Subhashree Ganguly is set to portray a journalist who disguises herself as a pregnant woman to uncover a shocking mystery in Hoichoi’s upcoming series ‘Anusandhan’, reports The Telegraph Online.

The teaser introduces Subhashree as Anumita Sen, a journalist investigating Rooppur Correctional Home, a women-only prison where inmates mysteriously become pregnant despite the absence of men.

The teaser also introduces the characters of Shaheb Chatterjee, Sagnik, Sohini Sengupta and Swagata Mukherjee. While Shaheb is set to play a corrupt man, Sagnik plays a jailer. Sohini and Swagata portray correctional home inmates.

“There is a secret in Rooppur Correctional Home, which only one can solve! Anumita Sen is coming to explore this mystery,” the streamer wrote on Instagram alongside the teaser.

Earliar, Subhashree unveiled the first-look poster of Anusandhan. The poster features newspaper clippings claiming inmates of a women-only prison were found pregnant. The artwork also features a microphone belonging to a media house titled ‘Eyewitness News’. The tagline on the mic says, ‘Truth is our religion’.

Anusandhan marks Subhashree’s second OTT venture after her acclaimed debut in Hoichoi’s Indubala Bhaater Hotel (2023), directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya and based on Kallol Lahiri’s novel.

Directed by Aditi Roy — whose last project was Lojja 2 earlier this year — Anusandhan is scheduled to premiere on Hoichoi on November 7.
