The Department of Environment (DoE), Sirajganj district office, has organized exceptional programme with the students at various high schools in the district recently to raise environmental awareness on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025.
This initiative, led by Tuhin Alam, Deputy Director of DoE, Sirajganj, has created a realistic idea among the students about the effects of air, water, soil and noise pollution along with climate change.
As part of the festival, a multimedia projector was used to display the harmful effects of environmental pollution, ways to remedy it, and the future risks of climate change to students.

In addition, students expressed their commitment to protecting the environment by cleaning the school premises by participating in open discussions on environmental issues and a question-and-answer giving session.
At the end of the programme, a quiz competition was organized to increase environmental awareness. Deputy Director Tuhin Alam handed over educational materials and tree saplings to the winners.
He said, “Environmental pollution is now a global challenge. Our goal is to teach the young generation an environment friendly attitude and responsible behavior.”
The implementation of this programme in various educational institutions of the district has shown great enthusiasm and interest among the students. The Department of Environment has already completed this programme in several schools of Ullapara and Shahjadpur upazilas.
Conscious circles believe that, such festive educational initiatives of the Department of Environment will encourage students to behave environmentally friendly and will have a long-term positive impact on preventing air, water and soil pollution and climate development.
They have expressed hope that, this programme will play an important role in changing the behavior of students, especially in refraining from using polythene, controlling noise pollution and practicing cleanliness.
This programme of the Sirajganj Department of Environment has already gained local fame. This initiative in building an environmentally friendly society has made the Youth Festival 2025 more meaningful, insiders said.
