Futsal champion league held in Tamai

In a vibrant and festive atmosphere, the grand inaugural match and reception ceremony of the “Futsal Champion League 2025” was held at the Tamai playground.

Organized by the Tamai Sports Association, the event took place on Friday night (14 November 2025). Teams from 16 districts across the country participated in the competition, adding a new dimension to the local sports arena.

The event was graced by the chief guest—BNP’s Joint Organizing Secretary of Rajshahi Division, Convener of Sirajganj District Conference Preparation Committee, and the nominated candidate for Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi–Chauhali) constituency with the “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol, Amirul Islam Khan Alim.

In his speech, he said, “Sports play a vital role in guiding the youth toward the right path. A youth community active in sports is the true asset of a nation. Such sporting events help keep young people away from drugs, crime, and harmful influences and contribute greatly to their positive development.”

A special reception was also arranged to honor Advocate Sheikh Mohammad Ali, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. He was greeted with flowers, a crest, and a commemorative award.

While receiving the honor, he said, “The continuous initiatives taken by the Tamai Sports Association to inspire and organize the local youth are highly commendable. Sports enhance mental growth, discipline, and moral values—this event is a clear reflection of that.”

Special guests at the event included Nannu Akand, Shaheen Hafez, Alhaj Abdul Aziz Sarkar, Hafiz Sheikh, Alhaj Abdul Majid Bablu, Ebadur Rahman Raja, Mofizul Islam, Engineer Sheikh Yusuf Ali, Jahangir Alam Jupiter, and Zakaria Sheikh.

They all stated that such regional sports events not only entertain but also significantly enhance creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills among the youth. They expressed their commitment to supporting the Tamai Sports Association in future initiatives as well.

A massive crowd of local spectators gathered at the Tamai field to witness the opening match. Sports enthusiasts of all ages cheered for the players with banners, festoons, and team flags. The beautifully arranged lighting and sound system throughout the field added a festive charm to the night.

Before the opening match, the program commenced with the national anthem, balloon releasing, and a welcome speech.

Members of the Tamai Sports Association stated, “Our primary goal is to engage local youth in sports, keep them away from drugs, and promote healthy cultural development. We plan to organize the Futsal League on an even larger scale in the coming years.”
