Detective Branch of police on Tuesday night arrested two drug peddlers along with 40 kg of hemp from Sheilachapri village under Rupbati union in Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj district.

The arrested are: Ershadul Haque, 36, son of Azizul Haque and Shahidul Islam, 40, son of Abed Ali of Char Gobindapur village in Kurigram district.

Md. Zulhaz Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of DB police in Sirajganj said, police arrested them from an engine driven boat after conducting a search at around 10:30pm, while they were carrying the mentioned amount of hemp.

A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
