Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that Awami League practices internal democracy. Since the birth of our party, democracy has been practiced within the party.

“None can say that a conference of ours has crossed the timeline. We completed the national convention within the December time frame. The next national conference will also be held in December 2025,” he said.

He said these at the representative meeting organized on the occasion of the Historic 6-Point Day and platinum jubilee of Bangladesh Awami League on June 23 at the Dhaka district Awami League office in the capital’s Tejgaon on Tuesday (June 4) afternoon.

Mentioning that Dhaka North Awami League has brought the message of the formation of various committees in the metropolis, Awami League General Secretary said, “Though late, this work has been at the heart of the hopes of the leaders and activists for many days. Metropolis South also informed me that the committee will submit it within two days. The main process is said to be at the completion stage. North has already completed the committee formation process.”

Obaidul Quader said that on June 7, we will observe the Historic 6-Point Day across the country. After that, the committee will be handed over. No one can make a noise about it. If there is any problem, you can submit a written complaint to our President’s Dhanmondi office.

Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League president Sheikh Bajlur Rahman presided over the representative meeting and general secretary SM Mannan Kochi moderated the meeting. Leaders of various levels of the North Awami League were present at the time.
