ACC Chittagong Deputy Director Md Nazmus Sadat said: “The woman lodged a complaint at Chawkbazar police station regarding the missing gold from the locker at Islami Bank’s Chawkbazar branch. As this falls under the ACC’s jurisdiction, the police have accepted the complaint as a General Diary (GD) and forwarded it to the ACC Chittagong director. The complaint has now been sent to the ACC’s head office in Dhaka, and the investigation will proceed as per instructions from there.”

In her complaint, Rokeya Akhter Bari mentioned: “Since 2006, my daughter Nasreen Marjuka and I have been using a locker jointly at the Islami Bank Chawkbazar branch. I requested Yunus, the in-charge of the locker, to open it. When he opened the locker room door, he found the locker allotted in my name already open. I was shocked when he informed me.”
