Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has sought time to appear at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for questioning on charge of accumulating wealth beyond his known income.

ACC Commissioner Jahurul Huque said on Wednesday (June 5) afternoon that Benazir Ahmed submitted a prayer through his lawyer seeking time.

Benazir was summoned at the ACC headquarters in Dhaka to face questions on accumulating wealth beyond his known sources of income on Thursday (June 6) while his wife and daughters on Sunday (June 9).

However, Benazir submitted a prayer to the ACC saying that he would not be able to appear by that time. The ACC can give him 15 days responding to his request.
