Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader warned that the Myanmar government or the Arakan Army will not be spared if Saint Martin is affected.
He gave this warning in a briefing at the Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi of the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Obaidul Quader said, “We are facing problems due to the internal crisis in Myanmar, it is sad. We will not spare if we are attacked. We won’t attack right away, but we have preparations.
The minister also said that it is sad that the United Nations is now powerless. Israel does not listen to them. Big countries don’t listen to them.
Recently several trawlers plying on St Martin to Teknaf route were shot from Myanmar. These incidents took place in the mouth of Naf river. Since then, ships have been plying different routes on their way to Saint Martin.
Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque and Sujit Roy Nandi, Liberation War Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Deputy Publicity and Publication Secretary Abdul Awal Shamim and Executive Member Sahabuddin Faraji were present at the press conference.
