Renowned actor Mosharraf Karim is returning to the big screen with “Banalata Express,” a film directed by Tanim Noor and is based on Humayun Ahmed’s acclaimed novel “Kishukkhon”.

Speaking about his involvement, Mosharraf Karim said he joined the project because he appreciated the director’s vision.

“I have talked to Tanim Noor about Banalata Express. I hope it will be a wonderful work. It’s based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel, which I’ve read and it’s a great story. That’s one of the reasons I decided to join the project,” he said.

The actor, however, emphasised that even a strong story requires skilled direction to succeed.

“If the director cannot give proper direction, then even a good story can be wasted. When I choose a movie, I look at the director first. After talking to Tanim Noor, I agreed to work with him because I liked his thoughts,” Mosharraf added.

While he refrained from revealing much about the plot, Mosharraf described filmmaking as a deeply psychological process.

“A movie is not a factory product that can be guaranteed. The entire game of cinema is psychological — from the director and cinematographer to the actors. I don’t want to say more before the work is completed. But I am very optimistic,” he said.

“Banalata Express” will also reunite Mosharraf Karim and Chanchal Chowdhury on screen after a long time. “The audience loves to see us together, and for that, we are grateful. We hope something good will happen this time too,” Mosharraf shared.

Shooting of the project is expected to begin in December, with a theatrical release planned for Eid-ul-Fitr.
