The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has finalised charge sheets against ousted premier Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and 21 others for violating regulations in booking a 60-katha plot in Purbachal area.

On Monday, the ACC headquarters approved the eight charge sheets and these would be soon submitted to a Dhaka court. Other Sheikh family members named as accused in the charge sheets are: Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, nephew Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby and two nieces Tulip Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq.

As per the charge sheets, Hasina, during her 15-year rule, abused her power as the head of the government to illegally procure six plots, each measuring 10-katha, at the diplomatic zone at 27 sector under Purbachal New Town Project.

Fourteen officials from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works are also accused in three cases filed over the corruption on 12, 13 and 14 January. Awami League regime’s state minister Sharif Ahmed and Hasina’s former secretary Salahuddin were later included in the charge sheets.
