ACC holds public hearing on 134 complaints in Sirajganj

The 181st public hearing on 134 complaints was held at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Sirajganj town with the assistance of Sirajganj District Administration and initiative of the Pabna Integrated Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with the aim of increasing social awareness and preventing corruption.

During the hearing, some 134 complaints were brought to discussion for solving.

The programme was inaugurated by the Commissioner (Investigation) of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi, while it was presided over by Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam. Md Fazlul Haque, Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission in Rajshahi Divisional Office delivered welcome speech.

Director General (Prevention) of ACC Md. Akhtar Hossain, Director General (Investigation 1) Md. Rezaul Karim and Superintendent of Police in Sirajganj Md. Faruk Hossain among others spoke on the occasion.

Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi said, “Corruption is not good ethics. Corruption spreads due to conflicts and immoral activities between service providers and service recipients. There can be no better example than the previous genocidal government, which has realized how small discrepancies spread day by day and how the rebellion of anger spreads.”

“The current Anti-Corruption Commission (Momin Commission) is running on a zero tolerance policy and will continue to do so. The purpose of the public hearing is not corruption, but to eradicate corruption and build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh,” he added.

The hearing of 134 complaints on different issues was held in presence of people from different professions like students, officials and employees of government and non-governmental organizations until 3:00 pm, sources said.
