The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate allegations of irregularities in allocating plots in RAJUK’s Purbachal New Town project in the names of six members of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s family.

ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain informed journalists about the decision on Thursday.

The allegations claim that Sheikh Hasina, through abusing power in collaboration with senior officials of RAJUK, allocated six plots under political considerations using the government’s authority under section 13/A.

The plots were allocated in her name as well as in the names of her son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed (Joy), daughter Saima Wazed (Putul), younger sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana’s son Radwan Mujib Siddiq (Bobby), and her daughter Azmina Siddiq.

The allocations include six plots, each measuring 10 kathas, in the diplomatic zone of Sector 27 in the Purbachal New Town project, specifically from Road no. 2003.
