Detective Branch (DB) of Police in a drive on Saturday night arrested a member of an inter-district dacoit gang from Panchila Baza’ar area under Solongga police station in Sirajganj district along with a pistol, seven rounds of bullet, a magazine, two motorbikes and a TV.

The arrested was identified as Mahbub Khan, 32, son of late Chand Ali Khan of Bagbari Lahiribari village in Kamarkhanda upazila of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police led by OC Ekramul Hossain conducted a raid at the mentioned place and arrested him along with the arms and ammunitions.

A case was lodged with the Solongga police station in this connection.

Ekramul Hossain, OC of DB police in Sirajganj told The Daily Sky that, the arrestee Mahbub is accused of eight more dacoity cases filed in different police stations in the country including Sirajganj.
