Popular Bangladeshi actor Monowar Hossain Dipjol has been sued by his maternal cousin Azizur Rahman Tiger, Managing Director of A. Wan Trading Bangladesh over defamation.

Tiger filed the case with the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Sunday, accusing Dipjol along with his manager Abdul Gani and personal assistant Khokon.

Following the filing, the court directed the Detective Branch (DB) of police to investigate the allegations and submit a report by September 24.

According to the case statement, Tiger alleged that Dipjol attempted to damage his reputation over a dispute related to a CNG filling station. He claimed that Dipjol spread defamatory statements about him through Facebook posts as well as television channels, newspapers and online news portals.

Tiger further alleged that the campaign harmed his social and business reputation and caused him significant financial losses.
