Advance train ticket sales for Eid-ul-Azha to begin on 21 May Bangladesh Railway (BR) will start selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, from 21 May with tickets for 31 May journeys on the first day of sales.

This time all tickets must be purchased online.

The decision to sell advance tickets was taken at a recent meeting chaired by Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain at the Railway Bhaban. As per the schedule, tickets for 1 June to 6 June will be sold from 22 May to 27 May. Tickets for 1 June will be available on 22 May, tickets for 2 June on 23 May, for 3 June on 24 May, for 4 June on 25 May, for 5 June on 26 May, and for 6 June on 27 May.

To ease smoother ticket purchases, sales for western zone trains will start at 8:00 am while eastern zone tickets will be issued from 2:00 pm.

Depending on the sighting of the moon, Eid-ul-Azha is expected to be celebrated on 7 or 8 June.
