AL has no chance to do politics in country: Tuku

Demanding ban of the Awami League’s politics, BNP’s National Standing Committee member and former State Minister for Power Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, Awami League has no chance to do politics in the soil of Bangladesh as its chairperson Sheikh Hasina fled the country putting the people at misery. Due to the former prime minister and her associates’ corruption and irregularities, country has reached on the bank of ditch. So, it has no rights to back on power again.”
He came up with the remarks, while addressing a public rally at the upazila play ground in Kazipur of the district on Friday afternoon.
The former minister also said, “Awami League leaders have made crores of taka by different illegal means and destroyed the country’s economy. Many of them have been leading luxurious lives in abroad by fleeing from country after the revolution on August 5. Those, who are still in the country, bring out surprise procession and go hidden just after the march. People should be aware right now about the fascists in order to they can’t come back on power again. BNP and its allies must be united to resist them.”
He further said, “Awami League had been carried out repression to the country’s people for over 15 years after coming on power by unfair means. People of the country want to get relief from the clutch of their black hands.”
He also urged the Kazipur people to vote for BNP candidate in the upcoming national parliament polls.
The programme was presided over by Selim Reza, former President of Kazipur upazila BNP.
Among others, BNP chairperson’s advisor and convener of Rajshahi Divisional BNP Bir Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam, Amirul Islam Alim, District BNP President Rumana Mahmud (ex-MP), General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, BNP leader Rumana Morshed Kanakchapa and Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana were also present in the event.
