Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025 inaugurated

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair has been inaugurated with the theme ‘July Mass Uprising: Building a New Bangladesh’.

This fair, which is the lifeblood of Bengal and Bengalis, starts on the first day of February for a month and has been observing for several decades.

Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2025 was inaugurated by Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus at around 4 pm Sunday. Cultural Affairs Advisor Mostafa Sarowar Farooki is present as a special guest.

Bangla Academy President Professor Abul Kasem Fazlul Haque presided over the inaugural ceremony.

This time, the book fair will highlight various aspects of the July-August mass uprising. There will also be a ‘July Chattar’. The number of stalls has been increased in this year’s fair. 708 publishing houses are participating in the fair, which was 635 last year.

This time, 99 institutions will be in the Bangla Academy premises and 609 in the Suhrawardy Udyan section. Of the total 37 pavilions, 36 will be at Suhrawardy Udyan. There will be 1 at the Bangla Academy premises.

The fair will be open from 3 pm to 9 pm every day from February 1 to February 28. No one will be able to enter the fair premises after 8:30 pm. On holidays, the book fair will run from 11 am to 9 pm. On February 21, on the occasion of  ‘Mohan Shahid Dibos’ and ‘International Mother Language Day,’ the fair will start at 8 am and continue until 9 pm.
