Another 114 flee from Myanmar, refuge toll now 229

Another 114 people fled from Myanmar and took refuge in Bangladesh due to the conflict inside Myanmar. Among them are members of Myanmar’s army, members of the Border Guard Police (BGP), and government officials.

Desk Report:

A total of 229 people have fled to Bangladesh since last Sunday, most of whom are BGP members.

BGP, army, and government officials fled from Myanmar through the Rahmatbil border of Palongkhali Union of Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. They have been sheltered at the Rahmatbil BGB outpost.

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) sources said that the 114 people who have taken refuge in Bangladesh today include not only members of Myanmar’s border guarding forces but also army personnel, customs officials, and other government officials.
