If reports are to be believed, actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, are headed for a divorce after 37 years of marriage.The couple has decided to officially part ways after living separately for some time, according to reports.

They were last seen together publicly on the show Entertainment Ki Raat. On the show, he said, “Sunita meri zindagi mein jabse aayi hai, main sudhar gaya hoon.” (Since Sunita came into my life, I have improved.)

Last month, in a candid interview with Hindi Rush, Sunita disclosed she and Govinda mostly live in separate houses, with Govinda often staying at his bungalow due to late meetings and gatherings. “We have two houses, we have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. He loves talking, so he’ll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them,” she said.

It’s been almost 40 years, they were living together. But there are speculations that the actor’s growing closeness to his 30-year-old Marathi co-star played a part in their split.

WHEN SUNITA SAID SHE NEVER LIKED GOVINDA

Sunita once revealed she never liked Govinda because of his backward thinking. She recounted, “He wanted me to wear sarees all the time, I never liked him because he was very backward.” Despite this, Sunita was the one to initiate their relationship as Govinda was “scared to touch women.”
