Arifin Shuvoo is a popular film actor in the country. The National Film Awards-winning artiste is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Indian director Soumik Sen’s web series.

According to a report on Anandabazar online, popular Indian screenwriter and director SoumikSen is going to make a series about the great Liberation War of Bangladesh. Arifin Shuvoo will play a central role in the series.

Indian model and actor Sauraseni Maitra will be seen opposite Shuvoo in the project.

The director is reluctant to reveal anything about the series. But, it has been rumored that the initial draft of the screenplay is done. The initial conversation with the two actors is over. It is said that if everything goes well, the shooting will start soon.

However, neither the artiste nor the director clarified anything about this.

It is heard that Arpita Chatterjee is producing the series.

Earlier, Soumik has directed several films. His notable works are “Gulab Gang” and “Mahalaya”. Apart from being a storyteller and screenwriter-director, he is also a lyricist.

Arifin Shuvoo is a well-known face of the country’s film industry. The actor was praised for his portrayal of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the film ‘Mujib: The Making of a Nation’. The film was released in theatres on 13 October 2023.

On the work front, Shuvoo-starrer movie “Neelchakra” directed by Mithu Khan is waiting for the release date.

On the other hand, Indian actor Sauraseni Maitra started off with the 2012 action drama film “Chittagong” under the direction of Bedabrata Pain. She then went on to star in the 2015 comedy-drama “Umrika”, directed by Prashant Nair. Her other notable works include “MeghnadbodhRohoshyo” and “MaacherJhol”.
