During the visit, he will inspect the activities of Bangladeshi contingents stationed in the Central African Republic and also different programmes of Bangladeshi peacekeepers present there, said a press release of Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) here.

Apart from this, the Army chief is scheduled to inaugurate a community clinic constructed by the Bangladesh Army peacekeepers for providing medical services to the people of that country.

Currently, a total of five contingents of the Bangladesh Army are now being engaged in peacekeeping missions in the Central African Republic, it said.

Moreover, since 2014, a total of 9,961 army personnel have served as peacekeepers and 11 have sacrificed their lives while engaged in peacekeeping operations in this conflict-ridden African country, the release added.
