Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has called upon newly commissioned officers to remain ever-prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty.
He said, “Young officers must always be ready to protect the nation, strengthened by the spirit of honesty, discipline, and self-sacrifice.”
He made the remarks on Sunday morning while addressing the Summer President Parade of the Bangladesh Navy held at Chattogram Naval Academy as the chief guest.
“The Bangladesh Navy is a highly organised force,” the army chief said, adding, “It continues to play a vital role in protecting the country’s maritime sovereignty, securing marine resources, curbing crimes at sea, and ensuring good governance in maritime areas.”
At the beginning of the parade, the army chief inspected the parade riding on a jeep, followed by a salute from eight platoons of young officers. Later, he handed over awards to the best performers of the training programme.
Notably, senior officials from the Army, Navy and Air Force, high-ranking government officials, local dignitaries, and parents of the young officers were present at the event.
