A mobile court in a drive on Wednesday imposed fines to different shops and hotels in Sirajganj town for selling expired and substandard foods as well as confiscated and counterfeit cosmetics.

Army and police personnel were also present in the drive to provide supports.

Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Bin Kabir, Commander of Army’s Sirajganj Camp confirmed this information on Wednesday (May 28) afternoon saying that, “The shops, which were involved with selling unauthorized, expired and illegal goods were identified and brought to book during the drive. Such drives in combination of Army personnel will be continued in every upazila of the district until Eid.”

A cosmetic shop of SS Road in the town was also fined Tk 26,000 for selling counterfeit products and fake hair growth oil during the drive.

In addition, the mobile court raided Arman Guest House at Bazar Station area and fined its owner at Tk 50,000 and two women at Tk 4,000 for carrying illegal activities in the hotel. During the drive, the mobile court also damaged some ingredients used in sexual activities.
