Drama troupe Theatre Factory’s acclaimed production “Asharashya Prothom Diboshe” will be staged at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy this evening, marking monsoon season.

Adapted by Anshuman  Bhowmick, the play has been written by Mohan Rakesh. Alok Basu is the director of the production.

The story of the project is that, Kalidasa loves nature, rivers, hills, and also loves a girl named Mallika. Kalidasa writes poetry, and his work is appreciated by the Emperor of Ujjayini who offers him to be the Royal Poet and live in the palace. Kalidasa does not want to leave the village. Mallika insists on him to go there for being a famous poet.

Kalidasa went to Ujjayini and became a more famous poet, and married the princess. Kalidasa does not come to the village but Mallika waits for him. She believes one day Kalidasa would come to her in the village and will start to write an epic.

After a few years Kalidasa came back to Mallika. Kalidasa told he could not write a single line there, what he wrote was from the inspiration from Mallika and the village. Suddenly Kalidasa came to know Mallika had a baby. Kalidasa realised that time has passed away.
