An 18-year-old youth named Tawsif Rahman Sumon was hacked to death by assailants who broke into his home in Rajshahi. Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at the family’s residence in the Dabtala area of the city. Tawsif Rahman Sumon was the son of Abdur Rahman, a judge of the Rajshahi Metropolitan and Sessions Judge Court.

The judge’s wife, Tasmin Nahar, was also injured in the attack. Police reported that she has been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for treatment. Members of the law enforcement agencies are present at the scene.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sufiyan stated that the alleged assailant is currently receiving treatment in the hospital after being injured. He added that the full details of the incident will be known after interrogating the suspect.
