Minhaz Ahmed Piklu, former guitarist of ‘Rockstrata’ and ‘Aurthohin’ bands, has passed away. Piklu breathed his last around 9 pm on Friday (December 20).

Confirming this, Piklu’s friend Sipat Altamus said that Piklu was playing guitar at a function in Rampura. He suddenly fell ill and was taken to a local clinic. There, the doctor declared him dead.

Minhaz Ahmed Piklu was one of the students of legendary guitarist Niloy Das.

He played guitar in hard rock bands ‘Rockstrata’ and ‘Jolly Rogers’ from the mid-1980s. He joined the band ‘Warfaze’ for a short time in the early 1990s.

Minhaz Ahmed Piklu joined the band ‘Aurthohin’ in 1999. Piklu has played the guitar on several popular songs including Aurthohin’s ‘Odbhut Shei Cheleti’, ‘Surja’, ‘Raater Train’, ‘Guti from Hell’, and ‘Nirbodh’.
