HC orders to shut 40 lakh three-wheelers
The High Court today has amended the order issued by the High Court to ban battery-powered three-wheelers. Besides, the ban on import and sale of these has also been lifted.
A three-judge bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order on Monday after hearing an appeal filed by the importer.
Earlier on December 15, a dual bench of the High Court ordered the ban of the battery-powered three-wheeler. At the same time, they also banned the import and sale of these.
The writ petition was filed in the High Court on December 13, 2021, on behalf of Kazi Jasimul Islam, president of Bagh Eco Motors Limited.
In this, seven persons including the industry secretary, road transport secretary and environment secretary were made defendants
