Bangladesh has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 ICC Women’s Under-19 World Cup, marking a significant milestone in the country’s rising cricketing ambitions.

This will be the third edition of the tournament, following the inaugural event in South Africa in 2023 and the upcoming 2025 edition in Malaysia. India emerged victorious in both previous editions.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already begun preparations for the prestigious event, with a strong focus on strengthening the talent pipeline. Efforts are underway in collaboration with age-level coaches and first-division clubs to identify and develop promising young cricketers.

“We are already in talks with various clubs and coaches across the country,” said a BCB official. “They are the ones who will help push players into the system so that our age-group teams become stronger ahead of the home World Cup.”

Officials believe that hosting this global youth tournament will not only boost the development of women’s cricket in Bangladesh but also inspire a new generation of female cricketers to take up the sport.
