Bangladesh is now trapped in a web of conspiracies and the country is not running as per people’s expectations, said BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu. He made this remark during a program in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “After Bangladesh became free from Hasina, people had expectations—they would live peacefully, the country would be protected from looters, law enforcement agencies would ensure security, and the administration would support the people. But over the past six months, the way Bangladesh has been running and progressing, the situation is becoming increasingly complex. The country is not functioning as per people’s expectations.”

He further stated, “The syndicate that controlled the market system during Sheikh Hasina’s era and caused abnormal price hikes of essential commodities, is still causing price increases. In this situation, I urge the interim government to control commodity prices so that people with limited income can survive.”

BNP’s Vice Chairman also said, “The web of conspiracy that has trapped Bangladesh has to be torn apart. In order to do that, strong political leadership is needed. And to establish such leadership, a collective government representing the people is required. If we are to form that government, people’s right to vote must be restored.”

Shamsuzzaman Dudu added, “The most urgent task at this moment is to ensure that people can vote for their preferred party’s candidate without any obstacles. If a government has the support of the people, it can make and implement difficult decisions effectively.”
