Bangladeshi umpires Masudur Rahman and Gazi Sohel are set to officiate in the forthcoming Asia Cup, with the former being named as an on-field umpire in the high-voltage India-Pakistan encounter in the group-stage.
On Monday, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the list of match officials for the tournament and the appointments for the group-stage matches.
Masudur will stand as an on-field umpire in the India-Pakistan Group A match on September 14 in Dubai.
He and his compatriot Sohel will be the fourth and on-field umpire respectively in the India-UAE Group A match on September 10.
Masudur will be the on-field official while Sohel the TV umpire in the Pakistan-Oman Group A match on September 12.
They will also officiate in the Sri Lanka-Hong Kong Group B match on September 14, with Sohel as the on-field umpire and Masudur the TV umpire.
Sohel will be the fourth umpire in the Pakistan-UAE Group A game on September 17.
The 17th edition will kick off on September 9 with the Group B match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi.
