The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) gave the directive to not allow transactions in the personal and privately-owned institutional accounts of Nowfel and their family members, including his parents, for the next 30 days.
The BFIU also sought an update of the accounts within five working days of the issuance of the letter.
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel was earlier accused in a case that was filed at Chandgaon police station on Friday night, naming 34 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Nowfel and 32 other Awami League leaders and activists, and 40-50 unidentified others.
