The initial registration period for those, who are wishing to perform Hajj in 2025, is going to be ended on Sunday (December 15). The Ministry of Religious Affairs has requested to keep the banks open beyond their usual closing time of 5:00 PM on the day.

Mamun Al Faruk, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, submitted a letter to Bangladesh Bank regarding this matter on Thursday. The letter states that the Hajj registration process will conclude next Sunday, and to facilitate Hajj pilgrims, bank branches that accept Hajj funds should extend their hours.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has asked that necessary arrangements be made to accommodate those depositing Hajj funds, as long as there are individuals present to make deposits.

On Friday, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religion stated, “We have sent this letter to ensure that Hajj registration does not face delays at the last minute.”

Next year, 127,198 people from Bangladesh will be allowed to perform Hajj. As of Friday afternoon, 4,635 people have completed their initial registration, while 51,290 individuals have registered privately.
