Additional Inspector General of Police Barrister Md Harun Or Rashid has been made the new director general (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

He will replace incumbent Director General M Khurshid Hossain and serve the elite force as its DG for the next five years.

Barrister Harun is now working as the additional IGP (Human Resources Management) at the Police Headquarters and earlier, he was the deputy inspector general (DIG) of Police’s Mymensingh Range.
