Sports Desk:

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) HP Unit got Tk 10,17,72, 036 as a partial budget to accommodate their expensive tour of Australia.

The red-ball squad of HP Unit left Dhaka on Saturday to play two four-day games against Pakistan Shaheens – a second-string squad of Pakistan, scheduled in Darwin from 19 July.

The second four-day match is scheduled at the same venue from 26 July. Following the longer-version games, HP Unit will play a 50-over tri-series involving Pakistan Shaheens and Northern Territory of Australia.

The HP Unit will start the series against Northern Territory on 1 August and conclude against Shaheens on 6 August.

HP Unit will conclude their tour by taking part in the Northern Territory’s T20 Series which will feature Pakistan Shaheens along with some leading Big Bash outfits.

The BCB HP Unit during the last board meeting on 2 July submitted a partial budget of Tk 10, 17, 72,036 for their program for 2024 that including HP Units’ training camp in Bangladesh (Tk 5,97,58, 176) and  HP teams’ tour of Australia (Tk 4,20,13, 860). A document obtained from the BCB and seen that was submitted in the board meeting reads since the budget for the financial year 2024-25 has not yet been approved it required approval from the board for the above-mentioned budget for HP program. The partial budget will be included in the budget for the financial year 2024-25.

BCB informed following the board meeting that they have approved the BCB HP team’s travel to Darwin, Australia from 14 July to 1 August in 2024 suggesting that the proposed partial budget was approved.
