BCB honors 3 cricketers

The Bangladesh team got the bitter taste of losing the first Test on the fourth day in Mirpur Thursday . Visiting South Africa beat the home team by 7 wickets. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) awarded three cricketers for separate achievements after the match.

Several records and milestones were met in this match. South African pacer Kagiso Rabada completed 300 wickets with the fewest balls in Test cricket history. Which happened on the first day.

Coming to the second day of the match, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam completed 200 wickets milestone in the Test format. Only Shakib Al Hasan managed to take 200 wickets earlier in Tests for Bangladesh.

In addition, on the third day of the Test, Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to 6000 runs club in white-clothes cricket. The Mirpur Test ended after four days.

After the match, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) awarded all three stars. On behalf of BCB, board director Nazmul Abedin Fahim handed over the crest to Kagijo Rabada.

Current selector and former offspinner Abdur Razzak Raj handed over the crest to Taijul Islam while Former captain and head of BCB women’s wing Habibul Bashar Sumon handed over the crest to experienced wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim.
